On Saturday 11 July 2015, David’s partsong, A garden inclosed is my spouse, shortlisted in the Cantus Ensemble Composition Competition, was performed by the Ensemble in a concert at St Gabriel’s Church, Pimlico, London.
An illustrious panel of judges – Ronald Corp, Alexander Campkin, William Mival and James Davy – were present to hear all four finalists, and chose David’s piece as the overall winner. The choir’s performance, conducted by Dominic Brennan, can be heard in the video:
The work is scored for acappella eight part choir and Soprano soloist (a voice from the choir). It sets words selected from the Song of Solomon. Duration: 4 minutes.
